Über die Veranstaltung

Rudolf Steiner mentions in several key places the individuality of Francis Bacon (1561-1626), the British Philosopher and Politician, highlighting his influential role in the development of the modern scientific method, as well as an interesting and mysterious karmic history with Arabia, Aristotelianism, and Shakespeare. Indeed, Steiner places him as a key figure for us to understand not just in the Anthroposophic medical movement, but in Volume VIII of Karmic Relationships, places this story as one fundamental for us as an anthroposophic movement as a whole. The materialistic scientific medicine of today has become an all pervasive and dominant cultural force which cannot be ignored, and appears to be often far removed from a spiritual-scientific view of the world and the human being. Over the last few years, it has become clear that this is an impulse which penetrates all fields of life and is not exclusive to the medical-scientific world.

Richard Ramsbotham is an actor-director, writer, and translator who has done a lot of research on the topic of Francis Bacon, Harun al-Raschid, Gondishapur, and Shakespeare, having written the book “Who wrote Bacon?” in response to the persistent claim that Bacon wrote Shakespeare. We look forward to inviting him to our open zoom to discuss these themes with us, and hope that people who feel the importance of this topic may also find the time.
